Verden Allen and his band Soft Ground will debut in August 2010. On 13 Aug, they will play the Night Owl Club in Cheltenham UK. The Wyeside Festival date originally scheduled for June have been postponed until August 20/21. It is now a two-day festival and will be held near Wergins Bridge, Sutton St Nicholas, Hereford. Verden Allen released his fourth solo album, My Masochistic Side, on 13 July 2009. The new album is available on CD from Angel Air.
Verden Allen takes a break during rehearsals for the forthcoming Mott the Hoople reunion gigs in London to talk about his recently-released solo album and what he is looking forward to at the shows which will mark the 40th anniversary of the launch of this legendary band.
Verden Allen, Dale Griffin, and Stan Tippins were recent guests of the Mayor of Hereford. The three met with Mr. Kevin Wargen in his chambers in April 2009 to honor Mott The Hoople.
